Mila JacaDr. Heinz Fischer’s lecture on Human Rights and the SDGs made me realize how closely connected the two really are. He emphasized that we cannot achieve sustainable development without protecting human rights, since both are about ensuring dignity, equality, and justice for all.
What struck me most was how issues like poverty reduction, gender equality, inclusive policies, and environmental protection are not just development goals but also human rights concerns. I liked how he explained that these areas are interdependent—progress in one affects progress in the others.
For me, the key takeaway is that sustainable development must always be rooted in respect for human rights. It’s a reminder that as global citizens, we have a responsibility to link advocacy, policy, and everyday action to both human rights and the SDGs. -
Mai Thanh BìnhAbsolutely wonderful course. With an amazing professor. We don't have enough opportunities to learn about SDGs and Global citizenship in my environnement, I am glad I had the chance to take the course, and I am looking forward for more.
