The lecture provided a clear and insightful introduction to the concept of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) and its importance in today’s interconnected world. It highlighted how education can promote values such as peace, mutual respect, cultural understanding, and global responsibility. I found the explanation of how GCED encourages individuals to think critically about global challenges—such as inequality, climate change, and social justice—particularly meaningful.
One of the most valuable aspects of the lecture was its emphasis on empowering young people to become active and responsible global citizens. The examples and case studies demonstrated how education can foster collaboration and dialogue across cultures and communities.
As a technology and civic-tech enthusiast from Ethiopia, this lecture helped me reflect on how digital tools and innovation can support global citizenship by improving access to information, promoting digital literacy, and encouraging inclusive participation. Overall, the lecture was informative, engaging, and inspiring, and it strengthened my motivation to contribute to positive social change in my community.

This free course is incredibly eye-opening and does a fantastic job of explaining Global Citizenship Education. It perfectly connects big, worldwide challenges to the local realities we face every day. Doing my clinical clerkship duties right here in Iloilo City, I see firsthand how global issues like health inequality affect real people in our hospital wards.

The videos and discussions make it easy to understand how important values like human rights, peace, and diversity truly are. The lessons completely align with the work I do right now as a National Officer on Human Rights and Peace. The course highlights that global citizenship is all about taking action. Whether I am organizing a Reading is Vital drive for kids, running Project PAD to help women with menstrual health, or leading Project MEDucate to teach people about their medicines, this course reinforces that our local community work is a huge part of being a global citizen.

I also really appreciate the lessons on media literacy and critical thinking. Fighting misinformation is crucial for everyone's well-being, which is exactly why I value honest journalism and clear public health communication so much. The ideas on socio-emotional and behavioral learning give me great new strategies to use in my advocacy. Overall, it is a wonderful, motivating course that empowers anyone to help build a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world!
