    Bringing Living Heritage to the Classroom in Asia-Pacific

    This course provides key resources and guidance for teachers and people interested in education and culture on why and how to integrate living heritage in their lessons and extracurricular activities in the school. Such lessons and activities aim to make learning more contextualized, relevant and engaging for students while they help raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding living heritage.    By the end of the course, the participant will:  Understand the benefits of using ICH in school programmes and activities. Gain capacity to develop lessons or activities, with at least one lesson or activity developed as part of the course. Build synergy with other education programs such as Education for Sustainable Development, Global Citizenship Education or Social and Emotional Learning, etc. Identify opportunities to develop more lessons or activities in her/his school context.   Whoever you are — policymaker, school director, teacher, student, parent, heritage practitioner — you have a vital role to play in this process.

    Using Film to Build Global Competency and Dialogue

    Welcome to this course! Together we will explore how to build global competency and dialogue by using films. Throughout the course, you will engage in different activities including reflecting in the forum on current practices, goals, and aspirations. We will explore ways to use film to create social emotional learning opportunities and self-reflection, as well as to facilitate dialogue around the student experience of documentary film. In addition, we will develop methods for investigating film background and exploring essential questions. And finally, we will explore ways that film can inspire positive social change through action, advocacy and awareness. This learning experience will guide you to create and share a lesson plan and get feedback from your peers. You will also have an opportunity to share your experiences teaching your lesson in a short reflection paper.     Along with the following five sessions, three live sessions with the instructor will be made for the course participants!

    Voices of Youth: Youth Advocacy for GCED (10th Youth Workshop Participants Only)

    The course aims to provide base knowledge and practical skills in youth advocacy to enhance the capacities of youth activists and to inspire potential young leaders to effectively promote GCED at local and global levels. Through the course, participants are expected to recognize youth as an active agent for GCED and gain competencies in planning and implementing youth-led activities in a variety of contexts.     This course introduces the SDGs and the notion of Global Citizenship through a series of lectures by renowned experts from all over the world, interviews with scholars, advocates, and representatives from all different sectors, and case presentations by active global citizens. The course aims to examine and critically reflect on the revolving issues around the globe at local, national, and international levels by providing a platform where learners can virtually meet and learn from one another.
