Critical Review on AI and Education: Why Global Citizenship Matters
by Dr. Wayne Holmes [UNESCO Chair in the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and Education, Professor of Critical Studies of Artificial Intelligence and Education, University College London]
As AI becomes increasingly influential in education, a human rights-based approach is more critical than ever. This lecture therefore critically examines its role, distinguishing between its use in education and learning
about AI from a human-centred perspective. Drawing on the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, it highlights the importance of GCED in navigating AI-driven societies.
